Chris Sacca.
Venture Capitalist
Chris Sacca is a venture investor who invested in many large companies while in the startup stage. Some include Uber, Twitter, Instagram, Twilio and Kickstarter. Before becoming successful in investing, his former profession was a lawyer. Chris is also the founder of Lowercase Capital which funds startup companies.
Involvement in Twitter
While Sacca’s company Lowecase Capital was one of twitters first investors, he was so attached to twitter that he once said that he felt twitter “was one of my children and I needed to defend it at all costs”. Eventually Sacca sold all of his shares. "I don't own as many as I used to because I'm not an idiot, but I own more than I should because I'm an idiot,". Sacca was at once the largest single shareholder of twitter. |
Involvement in Uber
Lowercase Capital invested $300,000 in the startup stage of Uber. Now Lowercase Capital owns 4% of the 41 billion dollar company. The CEO of Uber, Travis Kalanick and Chris used to be good friends and Chris and Travis rarely speak even though Chris has such a high stake in the company. |
